Rain and thunderstorms are in the weather forecast for the City of Duarte. City crews and contractors are still busy collecting green windstorm debris placed in public areas including streets near storm drains from the recent windstorms.
City officials are concerned that blocked storm drains could lead to standing water or flooding in some areas. To avoid this additional complication, residents are asked to check whether water in their street could reach storm drains and, if not, to clear a path for it by moving storm debris as needed.

For your convenience you may read the City Council Agenda for Tuesday 27, 2011.
In particular the options being considered regarding the low-income housing project are listed.
The lack of vision is apparent even in the details. One of them is even increasing the Housing
Authority's subsidy by millions.
Please feel free to voice your opinions on this site we look forward to creating a dialogue
between the community. It is the sole reason for this websites existence. To give YOU
the community a voice on both sides of the issues.

The Duarte City Council has approved the construction of a 66 unit low-income housing project on Huntington Drive, our main thoroughfare and home to the Historic Route 66. This project will drive businesses out of our city and effectively kill the dream of a downtown Duarte. I need your support to help defend the vision of a Duarte where we can live, work AND play. I need your support to defend the vision of a downtown Duarte.
Join us this Wednesday to STOP this project and protect this vision!
